Do not select “Lifetime Athlete” unless you have been biking/running extensively over the last year. If you have never used the scale with your watch, the first time you attempt to sync, you will be prompted to enter data about yourself.Press the upper left physical button, the backlight/power button, once.If you have an activity currently paused, but active, the scale will not sync with your watch! Important: Ensure your latest activity is cleared and saved (hold down reset).Using the scale with your Forerunner is simple: The scale measures weight, body fat and hydration levels. One of my favorite features of the 610 is the ability to wirelessly sync with the Tanita BC-1000 scale. USING THE FORERUNNER 610 WITH A TANITA SCALE Any failure to transfer to Garmin Connect can cause issues with syncing. If you don’t use Garmin Connect, disable automatic uploading to Connect in the ANT agent settings.This make transfers quicker, with less likelihood of timing out and failing. Periodically clear your history from the Forerunner 610.Only plug the stick in when you want to transfer data, and unplug it afterward to avoid these issues. This will cause your 610 to attempt to transfer data every minute or so, which will (a) drain your battery, and (b) can cause the device to go into a loop of rebooting itself until the battery dies. Do not keep the USB stick plugged in all the time.Place your Forerunner 610 watch close to the stick! Best results are had with less than 6″ of space between the two.Here are a few tips to make it as easy on you as possible: The USB ANT stick used to sync your Forerunner 610 with your computer can present some challenges. To get your activities to ride with GPS, we highly recommend setting up Automatic Sync with Garmin connect. The provided cable and base is only for charging the device. After transfer is complete, you should see your workout under Training> My Workouts> Workout Sport Type (i.e.The Forerunner 610 must sync with a USB ANT stick to transfer its activities.Make sure ANT Agent or Garmin Express transfers data to the 910XT(watch transfer screen for progress).FIT workouts file(s) into the NewFiles folder. Please also note that there is difference between Garmin workouts and activities. For example, the Garmin Forerunner 920xt and 935 will only store 25 workouts at a time, the Forerunner 645 can store 40, and the Edge 520 will store 200 workouts. ![]() Please note that each Garmin device has an upper limit to the number of workouts it will store per device. In some cases you can only load one workout file at a time. If the workout does not load you may need to free memory by removing old activities. Garmin will move any files from the NewFiles folder to the Workouts folder. If you don't see it immediately you may need to restart your device
